The International Marathi Language Day/ जागतिक मराठी भाषा दिवस is celebrated every year on 27^th February on the birth celebration of Vishnu Vaman Shirvadkar alias Kusumaraj, an acclaimed and famous Marathi Author and Poet. On that occasion, the Marathi Speaking Union in collaboration with the President Funds for Creative Writing launched “Kaavya Sphurtee/काव्य स्फूर्ती” an anthology of Marathi poems, written by local poets in the presence of Hon. Avinash Teeluck, Minister of Arts & Cultural Heritage
